Prince Enobong Uwah – the Honorable Commissioner of Environment and Mineral Resources in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria clocks 45 today!
He is an indigene of Atan Offot in Uyo Local Government Area.
He was born to Chief and Deaconess Emmanuel T. Uwah and brought up under strict Christian faith.
Enobong Uwah holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration. Between 1999 – 1994, he taught in secondary schools.
He worked with National Poverty Eradication Programme, NAPEP between 2001 – 2006 and with the private sector as Head/Planning and Strategy with Petro Consults LTD, in Lagos between 1995- 1997.
Prince Enobong Uwah was the Pioneer President of Atan Offot Youth Forum. He once represented Nigeria at the Commonwealth Youth Convention.
As a one-time Chairman of Uyo Local Government Youth Council and former Deputy National President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Prince Enobong Uwah was appointed in 2007 as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Akpabio on Protocol, Abuja Liason Office.
He then went on to serve as Dean, College of Aides to the Governor and in 2011, when he was elected overwhelmingly by the people for a second term.
Up next was his appointment into the Akwa Ibom State EXCO as the Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources – a post he is still actively serving by helping to interpret Governor Akpabio’s excellent vision and peculiar programmes for the uncommon transformation of Akwa Ibom State.
